In all thy humours, whether grave or mellow,
Thou 'rt such a touchy, testy, pleasant fellow;
Hast so much wit and mirth, and spleen about thee,
There is no living with thee or without thee!

If you don't like my apples,
Then don't shake my tree;
I'm not after your boy friend,
He's after me.

I CHANGE , and so do women too;
But I reflect, which women never do.

Army, Navy,
Medicine, Law,
Church, Nobility,
Nothing at all.

My mind needs no fire escape.
It is equipped with automatic sprinklers.
As soon as an idea catches fire
They put it out.
I am heavily insured against
Inflammatory notions.

Poignantly , the Gothic arch
Pleads toward Heaven to find the One;
Paganly, some elm or larch
Opens wide to air and sun.
Ego-ridden, save thy soul!
Lover, merge thee in the whole!

Ihr fahrt in hitzigem tummel ohne ziel
Ihr fahrt im sturm ihr fahrt durch see und land
Fahrt durch die menschen. . sehnt unfassbar ihr
Dass sie euch fassen. . sehnt unfüllbar ihr
Dass sie euch füllen. . und ihr scheut die rast
Wo ihr allein euch findet mit euch selbst
Bang vor euch selbst als eurem ärgsten feind
Und eure lösung ist durch euch der tod.
