I Can't Stand Him

I can't stand his hatred and his bigotry,
I can't stand his lies, arrogance, and cruelty.
His greed, intolerance, his lack of dignity.
I can't stand his vile and unjust policies.

I can't stand his desire for wealth and fame,
I can't stand how he loves the sound of his own name,
Or his mission to erase those who are not the same.
I can't stand his skill in escaping the blame.

I can't stand that his goal is to be deceitful and treacherous.
I can't stand how he pardons white supremacists,
His speeches are violent, his words are venomous.

The Dictator’s Downfall

In restless sleep,
I walked as Lilith,
wrath-bound.
With Lucifer beside me,
his shadow aflame.

The earth groaned heavy
with the weight of lies,
And power’s rot festered
in gilded halls.

The great house rose,
pale as a corpse.
Its walls steeped in
the blood of betrayal.
A serpent sat enthroned,
his crown of corruption,
A monument to tyranny’s
decay.

The gates screamed as
we tore them apart,
Iron yielding to
vengeance incarnate.
Within,
fear clung to hollow corridors,
And the golden serpent rose,

Standing With And For Liberty

Standing With And For Liberty

If you stand strongly with and for Liberty
I will fearlessly join you
If you stand firmly for Freedom
I will cheer the noble gestures of your kingdom
If you stand enthusiastically for Equality
I will ecstatically stand with you too
If you stand for good democracy
I will help you spread the seeds of Love
I will happily clap when the doves are hovering above
If you stand solidly for fair and equal justice
I will help you ring the bells of peace
I will fervently pray for you all the time

America Did Not Die

For crying out loud
Due to the outcome
I was not particularly proud
For more than two centuries, election days go and come
At a similar season, every four years
This time, there were plenty of wows and tears
Of disappointment, heartbreak, anger, anxiety and sadness
And the other half was full of glee or happiness
Such is life. Politics is a dirty and unpredictable animal
No, America did not die. Things are normal
We’re still talking about immigration, liberty
Freedom of speech, and of course the economy

Bouncing Back

Sometimes when you hit the hard rock
Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! You must bounce back
Never leave without a tough fight
That’s the correct thing to do. That’s right
Always remain calm, positive, valiant and defiant
The sun, moon and earth are incredibly resilient
Never stop fighting until the last breath
Eat and drink well and protect your health
Your heart is beating for a good reason
Regardless, please enjoy the new season
Do not give up and never stop living
Keep on fighting; the sun is still shining

Today I Voted, I Did Not Vote For A Person

The title of this poem is from an unknown wise man
Who said: ‘Today I voted, I did not vote for a person’
I love his honest and serious words. I love his wisdom
And I’m unequivocally proud to quote him
This genuine gentleman truly inspires me
His heartfelt message touches me deeply
Like him, yesterday, I voted for life and the future
I voted for equality and Mother Nature
I voted for values and decency
I voted for respect and dignity
I voted for fairness and equal opportunity
I voted for the rules of law and sanity

Gore-dom Boredom
by Michael R. Burch

There once was a candidate, Gore,
whose campaign had become quite a bore.
“He’s much too stiff,”
sighed his publicist,
“but not like his predecessor!”

Love is either wholly folly,
