Honor Him

Asheville, NC firefighter Captain Jeff Bowen, in the tongues of a July hellfire arson, couldn't breathe, fallen in the flames, a hero of life, his undying duty immortal,. as his brethren salute him, honor him as his funeral procession is near, still eternally passes, silent - but thunderous within the beats of our collective hearts. In Loving Memory Fire Captain Jeff Bowen A Firefighter Forever

Untitled

In Black Mountain Veterans cemetery, rows of white marble stretching into the mist, my beloved crossed the twilight bridge of stars, just when the early daffodils rose through the snow, the mourning moon weeps pearl light upon his repose, Death has no rule, no conquering of our cherish, separation's sting only passing, his kisses still bless my lips, as, one day, my breath will no longer draw, then, O God, You'll reunite us once more.

Where You Rest

In this quietude, this respect,
a place for the sparrows' songs
where the marble garden
is gleaming white in afternoon sun
and luminous in the comfort,
the sleepiness of moonbeams,
where you rest.

Young women, you wore the blue,
the color, the banner of your bravery,
when your blood ran,
fallen,
souls released, joyous, to the
infinity of the heavens,
where you rest.

In loving memory of Natalie Corona, Chateri Payne,
and all other fallen police officers.
