“What a wonderful world,” a man once said. But is it really so wonderful? Is it really so wonderful if the thorns of a rose Jab at your skin Over and over again, Although you’ve done nothing wrong? Is it really so wonderful when you discover violets of blue But it’s not a beautiful blue. It’s the type of blue that reminds you of the melancholy you feel every day. The emotions you let out when you’re alone. The desolation enshrouded within the mien of a smile. Is it really so wonderful if the trees grow their leaves, Healthy, beautiful, and green, Just for them to fall in the autumn air, To die, regrow, and start again. Is it really so wonderful if you finally feel like a dandelion that had just bloomed, Just to feel like one that could die from the simple gust of a wind? Again and again, The vines continue to enclose on the light you’re about to reach. “What a wonderful world” Is a phrase that I hated to hear. A phrase that I never agreed with. Until you took my hand And walked me through The wonderful world. What a wonderful world.
