What transpired in God’s mind?
Right from the start
what stirred in His heart?
Why on earth, man,
did God make a woman?

Since beginning of time
Woman had led man astray
From paradise had him cast away,
A perennial thorn in his side
she disobeys him; And, oh, how she derides.

As Pandora she let lose
all the evils upon the earth,
Aphrodite, an enchantress from birth,
enticed both gods and men into
illicit affairs with her good looks,
As Delilah she betrayed Samson
as did Jael who murdered Sisera by
driving a tent peg into his head.
Jezebel became associated with false prophets
and promoted worship of the deities Baal.
She ordered the prophets of Yahweh to be massacred.

Despite being the Goddess of marriage,
Hera was but jealous and vengeful
bringing down her wrath on Hercules.

Intriguing are the ways of the woman—
Enchanting, enticing, scheming, conniving,
But also divine and nurturing;
As a Blessed Virgin Mary,
She was the mother of Jesus.

Did God create woman
to woo man into submission,
Or was He
harboring a more sinister motive?
