What is thing we call a week, which is longer than attention, longer than definite memory, is too big to be embraced and too common to be ignored. It might be a goldfish bowl for one is always inside, looking out; or outside, looking in. It could be a digestive tract, each segment named for how you pass through it; oesophagus Monday, duodenum Thursday. There are few certainties; all days are equal; each day bears the weight of yesterday. More often than not, you will awaken with the name of the day on your lips. It is your job to know the week. It is not the week’s job to know you.
