“Thank you God, Thank you water..”
His unique and simple prayer.
Recited often,
Especially when,
His mind was in despair.
To all of us, a simple truth
Water is essential.
For Without this precious element,
We all would harshly suffer.
The droughts, the floods, the hurricanes and such,
The possession of deadly power
Make this frightful paradox
A phenomenon revered,
Admired and respected, with pure sincerity,
Scared of and detested, for what its wrath can bring.
But absolute reliance on the same very thing,
Which we need undeniably,
To survive.
Without water, anyone will perish,
And he was certainly in a drought.
The longest, driest spell he’d ever imagined.
The most desperate,
The most sad,
The most pain that he’d ever had.
His prayer kept him moving, searching for a way,
To quench his thirst and save his life,
From chaos and dismay.
He called out daily, in reference to his prayers,
“Please Lord I’m thirsty, and I’m losing my mind..
Please God help me to eventually find,
The oasis that I dream of, all day and through the night,
That beautiful crystal water that I can not live without..”
I’ll keep walking, he spoke to himself,
And I’ll never give up hope,
I’ll trek this desert eternally,
And search until I die
But I put my faith in both of you,
My God and my precious water,
And I can’t wait for the day..
That I find the pools hidden far away,
And drink and splash and rejoice,
That my life is saved, this miracle,
This exquisite perfect gift.
I can not BE without you,
And Without you I can’t live…
The drought, the fear, the desperation…
Are Gone away now, forgotten.
The power that you hold.
The purity and salvation,
Emblazoned in my heart and soul,
Has saved me once again,
And again has made me whole.
“Thank you God, Thank you water..”
I’ll never change my prayer.
I believe in it, it’s true,
And I’m never going anywhere…
And even as the pools with time,
May Grow musty, old, and stale,
Filled with amoebas and imperfections,
Observations that are not there.
Reassurance that we’re all aware
That the water is perfectly fine.
and know the truth, what’s real,
That The power, the love, the gift…
Will never change with time.
