Year
A vow was sworn in midnight’s keep,
A love too deep, a bond too steep.
The stars bore witness, cold yet bright,
A pact inscribed in tethered night.
Yet darkness yearns, yet void consumes,
It drinks the oaths, it sways, it looms.
A love that leans to blackened fate,
Still whispers low, yet knows it’s late.
For even passion dims to wane,
And even fire weeps in rain.
Yet though the night may feast on vows,
Not all will break, not all will bow.
For love persists, though light is gone,
A tenebrous hymn, a fading song.
And even void must bend, must weep,
For love still burns in shadows deep.
