When suitors come, my truth is softly said:
"My heart is his, though he'll not know it's pledged."
Though you have never asked, I’ve given all—
My love, my soul, a gift I’ve long alleged.
Your presence leaves me dizzy with desire,
A trembling flame ignited by your gaze.
Within your eyes, I see a burning fire,
A soul so vast, it sets my own ablaze.
When ecstasy surges, I cannot endure,
And thus my gaze may falter, shy or weak.
The depth of you, so potent, yet so pure,
It leaves me lost, with neither breath nor speak.
I’ve made my peace, though bitter is the call:
To love and yearn, yet never be yours at all
