Poetry is more of a calling, an insatiable quest,
You have to have ache in your heart
Passion in your soul, flair in your spirit
and streaks of craziness.

You have to feel the pain of the others
You have to cry their tears
You have to enjoy their joy
You have to celebrate their victory
and mourn their loss;

Poetry allows me to give vent to
my rage and my desperation in words
my fantasies and my dreams
my fears and my aspirations

Poetry is….
The mystery of my mind
The essence of my soul
The flight of my imagination
             …. Poetry is my life.  

If it wasn't for poetry
living this life would be unbearable.
