Year
Lives untold slipped into the abyss of forgetfulness As time scrapes away moss from the walls of history Big trees thought them mere shadows Created by the foreplay of light and darkness Carried away by the winds and rivers And the scarves of many little girls Who once scrambled and laughed in the softness of them, They are gleaned by earth eventually in its womb To sleep and never come back Lives uncared for disappeared in a landscape of grief As grey as it can be when it rains As blue and distant as it can be over the mountains Clouds of sorrow, clouds of listless wandering mist Afloat they go and sculpt in their dreams There are no more mysteries on earth All said and done, never looked back upon Life is just a lull for those left behind The tiny things gone, the giants lurch in the emptiness of grey.
