(With apologies to Robert Browning) That’s my last robot painted on the wall, looking as if she were alive. I call that piece a doozy, now. My favorite bot would smile at any android with a watt of reason in each integrated circuit. Her duty was to me, yet she would shirk it. She blushed at all AIs. Feeling revolted, I pulled apart all pieces that were bolted, yanked out her processor, and tossed each part into the bin. Yet I do have a heart. Although she bore herself as if alive, I shall not tolerate a robot’s jive! You’ve got a cuter android for me? Great! It would be nice to have another mate. I’m sure she’ll be responsive to commands— a bot that really, truly understands.
