When
When do I let you go
And see past myself
To answer what I couldn’t say
To you, my guiding moon

Skating on the silver surface
Of the water you reflect
As the body of your soul
Breathes into my neck

Every thought is in service
To you and only you.
The cry of a remorseful man
That howls at your memory.

The memory of what was lost
A future now a white mass
Of memories burning in the fire
That I made when times were dire

I didn’t know what I wanted
What I was
Where I stood
And as I strive for tomorrow
I must pass these thoughts of sorrow
Knowing I won’t see you
But in my dreams you’re there
