Year

With gentle assuredness her arms release,
But the light does not fade from her eyes.

They are framing memories.

They effuse a tranquil green sea.

It's waves carry me far beyond her gaze.
Under the guard of a stellar infantry,
I drift upon currents strong and deep.

When the tide reaches that pivotal end,
Against it I sprawl and we turn back for her,

Rushing with all of Neptune's might
To a safe and sheltered harbor.

Back into her arms, her warm embrace,
Her placid eyes who's questions
Patiently await their moments.

For now we are no longer coming back.
