Led to a chair by Miss Honey, It’s my first day at school. While we play Cowboys and Indians, John and Yoko are calling for peace. When I reach senior school I’m set my first homework. John’s imagining there’s no afterlife; But first I need to know more. Mother dies three years after John. I catch a fringe show about his work - Ideas, hopes and ideals. In the rawness of loss, I start to listen. Thirty years on, retired, I have time to reflect. John sings of domestic retreat; Now we are in complete harmony.
