Hanging heads in a sea of concrete,

Wind swept frowns in metal snakes

Delusional thursday-night goers in an alcohol closet

The bright Ra in the subway car,

Turns grey to camouflage.

City of lights turned blinding Goliath

Full of adams without slingshots.

I sit here and wonder

On a bridge between colonies

Why the lands of kings, queens, and pianos suffer

Before an island half their size

The sun sets

And I see it.

A beauty in pain

Kept alive by co-habitants

I sigh and walk home

To a city covered in

North stars
