War rages on outside this sloggen cave
No moon or stars shine through the ceiling hatch
Good men are coming soon, my life to save
One order I am under: Light no match
Why he forbids me fire, I know not
While windchill whips through body, mind, and soul
Each finger freezes, then burns fiery hot
As limb by limb, the frostbite takes its toll
My skin is covered in a mask of ice
But should I last the night, I’ll thaw by day
I take a matchbox out, but then think twice
I’d sooner lose my life than disobey
The rising sun stirs scent in things unseen
I’m standing ankle deep in gasoline
