In morning's gold and evening's glow,
The garden’s where my glad hands go—
To tend the green, to hum a tune,
And watch the sprouts reach for the moon.
The succulents in pots of clay,
Like sunny spots and hate the spray.
"Don’t drown me, please!" they seem to say,
"A drop or two will make my day!"
The ferns are fancy, lush and shy,
They thrive where shady breezes sigh.
"Keep me damp," their fronds will plead,
"A misty hug is all I need."
Cacti wear their spiky suits,
But deep inside, they’re mellow brutes.
"Full sun for me!" they cheer and shout,
"I’m tough—just don’t forget me out!"
Herbs like basil, thyme, and mint,
Grow best with care and light that’s glint.
"Pinch my tops and I will grow,
And give your soups a lovely show!"
The orchid is a regal queen,
In filtered light, she keeps her sheen.
"Don’t over-love me," she’ll declare,
"A little drink and gentle air."
Tomatoes climb with leafy pride,
In summer sun, they stretch and glide.
"Give me stakes, a drink each day,
And I’ll be red in no delay!"
And so I tend them, one by one,
In rain or shine, in cloud or sun.
Each plant a friend with needs to share,
And joy to bring with leafy care.
For when I water, trim, and weed,
They thank me in their leafy creed—
With blooms and greens and growth anew,
And cheery days in every hue!
