Each day - from sapling to tree Your leaves have stayed, evergreen. From the dawn of the first spring sunlight From old to young, your leaves evergreen. In the heat brushing summer wind, Danced your active leaves of evergreen. When colder winds blew every other leaf You remained covered in leaves evergreen. When winter snows covered those bare trees, Beneath yours glowed your leaves, bright evergreen. Now, among fallen warriors you lie, And still in your heart, evergreen.
