Alone in the darkness I sit and I tremble What shall befall me, to answer, not able? What have I done to deserve such treatment To my mind nothing reveals it. The fear deep inside me I cannot abide. A bright spot of light, I must find to hide. The darkness envelopes, overwhelms my mind I need to get out, but how, I can't find. No deed have I done, I've hurt no one, I need to escape from this torturous fate. The darkness grows darker The fear grows much deeper My mind will soon burst there is nothing worse. Alas, I hear a sound, footsteps all around. A calling of my name? Hurrah, I've been found. As darkness turns to day Was a dream, so they say There's no evil found My joy has come round.
