A CORNER TO TURN

Why is it always memories occupying the mind
However, it shouldn’t be so hard to understand
When especially of a certain age, one does find
With present and future days that look so bland

All imagined interesting prospects are curtailed
Across exciting scenes someone draws a curtain
For new exciting experience, the ship has sailed
As in the distance, just that one thing is certain

But for so many, who might go to any lengths
For a fresh take on life, no barriers in actuality
Whether creative pursuits building on strengths
Replacing the old, establishing a new normality

Of course memory is still there to play its part
But perhaps it is due time to exercise the brain
Always seek a balance of both mind and heart
So peer over the wall to see a new dawn again

Just what is in store, there’s no need to know
It may not be a sudden flash, but a slow burn
Well that is okay, as one can go with the flow
Just try to see it positively as a corner to turn
