Violets are red Roses are blue I don’t see colour So why should you? The world itself, to the brim, filled with colour And skin too, but its tone reviewed Judgement flying in by the hour We’ve closed our complimenting eye Availing speech, that even peace, it devours With this racial competition, a ripe red heart, goes sour. The only time I want to know race Is down by the mountain In the marathons picking up the pace The only time I want to see colour Is on sunset evenings The sharp sun, introducing me to her tired, gentle rays All colour is beautiful White, black, even green if that is you So why see colour if it will divide? Such toxic, polarising views.
