Upon Sir Thomas Fayer-Fax whose vertues make Him shine a bright star in our Horizon

Great Alexander makes the World appeer
Less ('Cause noe more), soe Curbs the Conquerer
Yet Cesar found His Bayes to Amplefy
(People fro'th'World apart) in Brittany
Who without Cesars Armes and Pignions too
Soe Great a work in soe short Time could doe:
Nor Any but of Mighty Power Compact
Could Iterat Bellerophons Great Act
Let the Cleer Moon bost of Her borrowed light
Fair-Faxes Star desert shines far more Bright
Phebus the Dark-Ill-Vapours may expell
But this is He Ill-humors doth repell
Clowdes and Night-chasing-Light whose splendid Ray
Is the Faier-Blazon of Our hopefull Day.
