In Twilight Park one never sees —
An hour of sun, because the trees —
Stretch out so thick, stretch up so high,
They cover almost all the sky,
Backed by the mountain's huddled knees.
It's a good place for eye-disease
Or hoarding gloomy memories,
Sitting all dolorous and shy,
Under grey ledges never dry
In Twilight Park.
There is a damp distressful breeze
A murmur of rheumatic bees,
And in deep chasms far & nigh
Long waterfalls forever cry —
O come and take your summer ease
In Twilight Park!
