Let them go by; I will not hear.
I am tired of the bells in their feet
Ringing ceaselessly: near, far, near.

Let their sounds stay down in the street;
Let them go north, let them go south,
And stop this curving up a stair
To fling an echo upon my mouth
And to move like wind against my hair.
