My eyes are dazzled. I have seen a sight,
And still I throb with wonder and delight.
I saw my Lucy as at ease she lay
Splashing her silver feet in frolic play,
I saw the golden apples of her breast,
Their ripened smoothness by the flood caressed;
I saw a roundness in the water gleam
That more relucent than the waves did seem,
While with one hand outstretched for sole defence,
She sought to hide her maiden innocence.
And still I throb with wonder and delight.
I saw my Lucy as at ease she lay
Splashing her silver feet in frolic play,
I saw the golden apples of her breast,
Their ripened smoothness by the flood caressed;
I saw a roundness in the water gleam
That more relucent than the waves did seem,
While with one hand outstretched for sole defence,
She sought to hide her maiden innocence.
