Song or Ode Upon the speakers of either houses leveing their charges and runing away to the Army

The Parliment sat soe long without head
Til never a speaker was left in each house
Jack Presbiter made his will and was dead
And all was ordaind, prov'd not worth a louse
Sing round about every one to's trade a gaine
Let shoomakers noe more exceed their Last
Nor Princes obey that Subjects might raigne
Lest thes become all long Letters at Last
How comes it about there was found of Late
A trick to put all authority downe
But that some would change a Monarch to State
And with their mil breath Blast the Flowers of the Crowne
Sing round about let us forget to speake Duch
And let our Mother tongue beare Command
 Let insolence want necessities Crutch
Wherefore God bless the King and his Peeres
And all Loyall Commons what soever they be
That whilst Citty and army are goeing by th'eares
The Subject againe may have's Liberty
Sing Round about Babilon twill be thy fall
With Multitudes thou both houses dost awe
Till now thy great army and Generall
Doe seek to give thee and the Kingdom the Law
What proffitts it now magna charta to read
What of Foresta or the Petition of Right
Wher time Devoures all things upon them doe tread
And the best understanding is how to fight
Sing Round about looke to thy owne and be wise
Leave ofe to solicite thy cause in a forme
Beleivt there will be neither sessions nor size
But all will be under confusions storme
Unless by a timely returne from our sinn
Wee be able ore feavere soe much to prevaile
That as Members goe out our King may come in
Cutting of perpetuity in the intayle
Sing Round about let the Just sphers and the skies
That overlooke all below heere provide
For the time thats to come wee become the more wise
And Let the known Lawes alone be our guide.
