Tell how the parts of light through clouds
Of shades their lustre share,

Its radiant wings display,
Hot to pursue the flying night,
And spread the dawning day?

By the return of light;
Each ev'ning too, seems equal strange,
By the relapse of night:
Yet men, who still the change expect,
And see't without surprise,
These daily miracles neglect,
Just wrought before their eyes.]
