Solatur se etsi Naturaliter Miserum, Faelicem tamen Gratia, ex Passionibus Christi fore
How miserable Men are
Caught in Sin and Natures Snare
By what means then may I
Free my self of this Fates Captivety
The body of Death in me doth reign
Unlawfull Lusts my mind doe strayn
But I the wily Fox will joyne
To th'gentle Lamb ere t'encline
More to Adulteries Dessign
So't pleas my God: who's pleasd and kind
To the Confessing Penitent Mind
From Whose meer Grace its Pardon's signd
When Satan Me with Baytes did trye
I strayt considerd Liberty
And Who it was for me did die
Then for His Suffrings My Self Crucefy.
