The Smugglers

By the sands of Rio Bravo,
Races with the law they ran,
Through Chihuahua to Sonora,
Down the trail to Mazatlán.

But the law rode fast and caught them,
Booty, burro, horse, and man;
Pepe, Luis, Coyotito,
Ended not as they began.
