Sonet 6.

Euen as when great mens heyres cannot agree
So euery vertue now for part of thee doth sue
Courage proues by thy death thy heart to be his due
Eloquence claymes thy tongue and so doth courtesie.

Invention knowledge sues, iudgment sues memorye
Each sayth thy head is his and what end shall ensue
Of this strife knowe not I, but this I knowe for true
That whoesoeuer gaynes the suite, the losse haue we.

Wee, I meane all the world the losse to all pertayneth
Yea they which gayne doe loose and only thy soule gaineth
For loosing of one life two liues are gained then.

Honoure thy courage moou'd, courage thy death did giue
Death courage honoure make thy soule to liue
Thy soule to liue in heaven, thy name in tongues of men.
