The Scepter Shall not depart from Juda nor a Law guiver til Shilo come

The Scepters gon the Law's fullfilld
When as the Jewes our Saviour Killd
Shilo is come indeed yet They
Blind and Hard-harded Stil doe stray
Expecting a Messias when
God had inspir'd each Prophets Pen
To set it down and to fore tell
This High Misterious Miracle
Angells the Heralds of such newes
Might serve for to confute the Jewes
But that as yet it doth not fall
Within the Time of Their recall
Such undeserved Mercy's sett
Alone in His closs Cabinet
Who All things at the first did frame
To prayse and glorefy His Name
And that His Mercies might out Shine
All other Attributes Divine
Sent us His Sonn of Juda's Race
To cancel th'owld Lawe, bring in Grace
For Circumcision He endur'd
Wherby beleeving Sinner's Cur'd
And bearing Conquest over Death, Hell, Grave,
Was Lost Him Self awhile Our Soules to Save.
