'Tis done, the edict past, by Heaven decreed,
And Hancock's name confirms the glorious deed.
On this auspicious morn was Independence born:
Propitious day!
Hail the United States of blest America!

Fly! Fly! Fly, swift winged Fame,
The news
the news proclaim.
From shore to shore let cannons roar,
And joyful voices shout Columbia's name.
Shout! Shout! Columbia's name, Columbia's name.

See haughty Britrain sending hosts of foes,
With vengeance armed our freedom to oppose.
But Washington the great dispelled impending fate, and spurned each plan.
Americans comebine to hail the godlike man.
