GOOD luck to all who throng
The ways of laughter and song!
But if for some they seem too brief —
For some they seem too long.

Myself I have been a great thief
Ofpleasure to lighten my grief,
But now — say now do you fancy it wrong
If I turn to the night for relief?

Good luck to all who throng
The ways of laughter and song!
But weary I turn to the night for relief —
And I pray that the night be long.
