Too big and wide, the bed for me,
Since you have left my side,
And taken to your narrow bed!
The old wife cried.

Too big and wide, the world for me,
Since you have left my side,
And found your home among the dead!
The old wife cried.

And, as she cried, the darkness fell;
And so she sought his side;
And, taking to her narrow bed,
No longer cried.
