The little mer-baby she had a mer-doll,
A little mer-doll-dolly!
She loved it dearly, she did indeed,
And dressed it gaily in bright sea-weed,
As fine as a parrot polly.

The mer-dolly's teeth they were tiny pearls,
Her lips were of coral merely,
Her cheeks were little sea-shells pink,
And she could talk but she couldn't think—
At least she couldn't think clearly!

The little mer-doll had a crown of gold—
That little mer-doll-dolly!
The little mer-babies sat at her feet,
The little mer-girls said, “isn't she sweet!”
And the little mer-boys said, “jolly!”
