Great hunger in their lives,
it will not be hidden,
it permeates into their days and nights,
a cruel and piercing famish.

Oh God, they grow weak, they yearn
for America's bounty,
and You called so many of us
to fill up the bags
with nourishing food
to take to the food pantries and food banks,
I feel it's a harvest from our hearts, our souls.

The politicians' faces change,
but in our U.S. the hunger stays,
it doesn't discriminate
by race, gender, age, or creed,
there is great hunger in their lives,
and we pray that they will strengthen
and be fed by their own nation,
Farmers in the combines,
go and reap the wheat from the fields
that will become bread for the childrens' tables.
