Year
A poetess and her lover
in the daydreams
of midsummer's seduction,
soon give up bursting brightness
to evensongs,
as the gloaming arrives,
hesitates,
then offers herself
to the night,
as the fireflies rejoice
in freedom,
the foxfire's emerald luminescence
guides whispering wood nymphs.
The union of laughter,
sharing summer vintage
as the lush leaves
on moonlit trees
turn silver.
The summer's romance,
the ecstatic poetry,
the adoring hours
I gave to him,
left so silently
into a longing autumn.
