O principle of Life, that lives
About all things, and through and through;
Most penetrating Power, that gives
Old things the grace to change to new!

Which shall I praise and honor most,
The wave that ever ebbs and swells,
Or Nature's vast and varied host,
In which this essence sweetly dwells?
