To a Lady, Who, in return for a Copy of Verses, sent me a flower'd Cap

Who, in return for a Copy of Verses, sent me a flower'd Cap.

I S this, dear Maid! the Price of all my Pains,
My Sighs, my Prayers, and never-ceasing Strains?
Fair Daphne thus, a grateful Heart to show,
The Lover scorn'd, but crown'd the Poet 's Brow.
