A Conqueror is Kindness; far beyond
The armed Victor, who doth thundering preach
Civilization with the cannon's tongue,
Woe-bought delights, and bloody benefits.
A gentle word begets a gentle thought;
Drawing the sting from malice. Better thus,
Than bruise with hate the ignorant Serpent's head;
Who knoweth nothing till you teach it him.
