Jove for whom our Alters smoke ,
Jove, whom Gods and Men invoke;
By whose sole power the laughing year
Rouls round the gilded Hemisphere;
Who do'st its easie paces move ,
By the soft rule of Peace and Love:
Accept what we thy watery Subjects bring,
Oaken Garlands for our King,
Ever Green and flourishing!
Which Thy Empire shall Proclaim
O're the Tributary Main;
See the Triumphant wreath's are drest
With all the shining Trophies of the East;
Such as remotest shores afford ,
With which they own and greet their Lord ;
By this gay tenure 'tis they hold
Their Rocks of Diamonds, and their Hills of Gold:
And thus acknowledge thus we pay
Great Jove! on this Thy solemn Holy-day .
