On An Infant

WHICH DIED BEFORE BAPTISM.

"Be, rather than be called, a child of God,"
Death whispered!--with assenting nod,
Its head upon its mother's breast,
The baby bowed, without demur--
Of the kingdom of the Blest
Possessor, not inheritor.
