See Virgin forms on carrs of snow descend
Arrayd in white as pure as virgin mind
With ardent zeal they strive who best shall blend
A nuptial wreath Marias brow to bind.
Now the light clouds disperse the fleaks of snow
And lucid azure spreads her vivid gleam —
While hymens wings with brighter purple glow —
And his pure torch he lights at friendships flame.
Next smiling Cupid leads the mildest grace —
And all the laughing loves are in his train —
Hygia too he brings the pair to bless —
And with her presence gild the mystic fane
Be this the emblem of their future life —
May innocence and Joy begin the morn —
And sweet forbearence break the glooms of strife
And peace and chearfulness their eve adorn
For sure if heaven will hear a mothers prayer —
And prayers maternal heaven did never scorn
Alexis lot in life must be most fair
Blest as the hour to me that he was born
