If her night-shrouded eyes
Should wake to see a new day rise —

To greet unlooked-for dawn,
Kindling the dews of some celestial lawn,

Would even that heavenly day
Bring back to her what death has taken away —

Has taken from the wife
And mother, still in love with her hard life?
