Holver and Hivy made a gret party
Who shuld have the maistry
In landes where they go.

Then spake Holver: ‘I am fresh and joly;
I wil have the maistry
In landes where we go’.

Then spake Hivy: ‘I am loud and proud,
And I wil have the maistry
In landes where we go’.

Then spak Holver, and set him on his knee:
‘I pray thee, gentil Hivy,
Say me no vilany
In landes where we go’.
