Sonet 6.

Fayre sun if yow would haue me prayse youre light
When night approacheth wherfore doe yow flye
Tyme is so shorte beautyes so many be
That I had need to see them day and night.

That by continuall vew my verses might
Tell all the beames of youre diuinitye
Which prayse to yow and ioy should be to me
Yow liuing by my verse I by youre sight
I by youre sight but not yow by my verse
Need mortall skill immortall prayse rehearse?

No no if eyes were blind and verse were dumbe
Youre beautye should be seene and youre fame knowne
For by the wind which from my sighes dothe come
Your prayses round about the world be blowne.
