This little residence is far from any village;
the gate opens on waterside bamboo.
Every plant and reed can be used as an herb;
each cloud and bird—material for poems!
In the spring rain, you go off to till the fields;
in setting sunlight, return from seeing patients.
Flowers hide the stream which leads to this place:
only a drunken boat can make it through!
