He had inherited a certain ring

He had inherited a certain ring —
(I tell my story in straightforward fashion)
A noble diamond — a perfect thing
Which Attenborough would have given you cash on:
Rupert would not have sold it to the King,
For 'twas a test of love's true fiery passion:
In a girl's heart to know if love-thoughts linger,
Just kiss her with that ring upon your finger.
