Das Fräulein stand am Meere

Upon the shore, a maiden
Sighs with a troubled frown;
She seems so sorrow-laden
To see the sun go down.

Don't let the old thing grieve you,
Look up and smile, my dear;
For, though in front he may leave you,
He'll rise again in the rear.
